Enjoy. (And, heck, $1/month. The good out-weigh's the bad.
The mag is great and has great ideas, tips, features, etc. Still, I take it all in stride b/c that's what happens when you are a long-term reader. I have subscribed to Family Handyman for ten years or so.
Let's put it this way, the last time I renewed my sub., I made it for four years and and added a two gift subs. (And get to work).) My only complaint is that there are (too frequent) repeats of projects/similar projects.
How many times do I need "the best garage storage system.".
The magazine focuses on home solutions that matter. Found a subscription offer on Amazon and the first issue arrived full of the same content that intrigued me the first time. I highly recommend this publication to anyone who likes to fool with tools and hopes to improve the hacienda. I first encountered "Handyman" at the barber shop of course. It seemed like every page had tools, hints, and projects that were relevant to my inclinations.
Overall it was nice, but after the second issue, I would scan through it and then never pick it up again. Magazines seem to be going this route these days, less articles and more scattered bits of information, tips and statistics. Sorry I am just being honest. I was interested with this magazine because of some of the ideas it had. Eventually it seemed to be filled with scattered amounts of "helpful hints".
The articles and projects touch upon every day subjects. The instructions are clear and concise and the articles are very informative. I would definitely recommend this magazine to anyone interested in home improvement. The Family Handyman is a great magazine for the do-it-yourselfer. The projects in it can easily be done by amateurs.
It's down to earth projects that almost anyone can handle, and they're projects and tips that ordinary people use, not fancy projects that require alot of time, money and space. This magazine is perfect for the guy who doesn't have all the newest tools and a boatload of money to spend on projects.
